Snake plant (Sansevieria) is known for its low-maintenance and its air-purifying abilities.
Light: Can tolerate a wide range of light. They prefer indirect, bright light. Contrary to belief they do not do well in very low light conditions. Avoid afternoon sunlight, as it can scorch leaves.
Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Stick your finger into the soil to check its moisture level or use our moisture meter to take the guesswork out.
Soil: Prefer well-draining soil. We recommend using our Fafard Cactus and succulent potting mix to allow for excellent drainage.
Temperature: 18°C to 29°C. Avoid exposing them to extreme cold or drafts.
Humidity: Snake plants adapt to humidity levels and can do well in normal household / office humidity.
Fertilization: Feed your Snake plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer We recommend our Sultz 10-15-10 every 8 weeks. Avoid over fertilizing as it can lead to fertilizer burn.
Repotting: They are slow growers and do not require frequent repotting. Repot when the roots are coming out of the top and drainage holes. use a pot no more than 5 cm larger than the existing pot.
